Our South Asian Community has many serious health
issues in our multi-faith society.
Did
you know ...
We are 50% more likely
to die from a heart attack than the rest of the UK population.
More than 1/3 of us between the ages of 40-65
suffer from hypertension and diabetes.
We represent 13% of all kidney patients waiting for transplants
but only 1% of our community are organ donors.
What
can we do ...
We should all be considering giving blood at least to the extent
of our own needs. We should all consider carrying cards saying
our organs can be donated for transplants.
We should participate generously in charity and donations.
It is time for us to take action and Play our Part.
Sooner or later it could be you or someone close to you
needing vital support and care.
